Center for Adult and Continuing Education (CACE)

The Center for Adult and Continuing Education’s mission is to support the University by providing continuing education and lifelong learning opportunities for individuals, the corporate community, and its stakeholders. Our mission includes courses on professional training and skill development. Other responsibilities include providing personal enhancement courses and events to empower individuals to reach their maximum potential. Currently, CACE hosts three programs, the Adult Degree Program (ADP), Alternative Teacher Certification Program (ATCP), and Continuing Education (CE).

Adult Degree Program

Our Adult Degree Program curriculum is tailored for both in-person and online instruction.

Huston-Tillotson Campus-Based Adult Degree Program extends the University’s educational offerings to full-time, working adults seeking to continue their educational opportunities ADP utilizes a student cohort model designed to meet the learning needs of individual students while nurturing group management skills through the program’s emphasis on learning teams. In the Adult Degree Program, students collectively enroll and participate in face-to-face sequence of classes, which are held on campus once a week. Huston-Tillotson will introduce its Online Adult Degree Program this fall.

The Huston-Tillotson Adult Degree Program now includes a 100% asynchronous online degree program for selected undergraduate degrees.

 

 

Alternative Teacher Certification Program 

Our online alternative teacher certification is specifically designed for people who possess a bachelor’s degree or higher and are currently considering a teaching career.  The Alternative Teacher Certification Program (ATCP) at Huston-Tillotson University offers full certification within three academic semesters.  Courses include weekly virtual face-to-face instruction.  The alternative teacher certification program includes 18 undergraduate credits that fulfill the State’s 300 clock hours of coursework, field-based experience, and a one-year paid internship requirements.

 

Continuing Education 

The Continuing Education Program at Huston-Tillotson University offer a variety of online, traditional educational opportunities, and services specifically designed to address the personal and professional needs of the lifelong learner.  Our mission is to provide various continuing educational, training, and developmental courses.   The Continuing Education Program seeks to provide industry-recognized certificate series, exam preparation courses, personal enrichment classes, programs, and events through CACE.
