Using the Library

Using the Library

  • The lower floor is reserved for silent studying; the upper floor is for group-work—if you are talking downstairs, you will be asked to move
  • Phone conversations must be taken outside
  • Listening to music and watching videos is only allowed with headphones—headphones are available for checkout at the circulation desk
  • Reserve textbooks can only be checked out for two hours.
    • Renewals are allowed only if no one else has requested the book
    • Reserve textbooks cannot leave the library
  • Lost and found is located at the circulation desk
  • A pencil sharpener is located on the upper level beside the bookshelf that is closest to the entrance.

Food and Drink

  • Food and drink are currently allowed but are discouraged near library equipment and books
  • All drinks must have lids

Printing and Copying

  • Printing is 10 cents per page for black-and-white, and 25 cents per page for color
  • The computers print in black-and-white automatically—for help changing the print settings to black and white, ask a librarian
  • Double-sided printing is available, but you have to pay for both sides
  • We do not have a fax machine
  • Copying is 10 cents per page
  • The copier does not print in color
  • The copier only takes nickels, dimes and quarters—please do not put pennies in the machine
  • Scanning is free but requires a USB drive—USB drives are available for temporary checkout at the circulation desk
  • We cannot accept credit/debit cards, $20 bills (or larger), or non-US currency

Study Rooms

  • Study rooms are for groups of 2-6 people; no more, no less
  • Reservations for the study rooms may be made in advance, though this is not mandatory
    • Making a reservation will give you first priority for a room
    • Each reservation is for two hours
