Austin, TX – Huston-Tillotson University is one of 12 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) receiving $1 million through a historic $12 million gift from the James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation to UNCF.
The gift is designed to strengthen the financial sustainability of UNCF-member institutions while expanding pathways for students pursuing careers in healthcare and education.
“This investment in Huston-Tillotson is both timely and significant,” said HT President and CEO Melva K. Wallace. “We are grateful to UNCF, the James and Judith K. Dimon Foundation, Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole and Dr. Gia Soublet for helping make this much-needed gift possible. Investments such as this strengthen our University and, more importantly, create greater opportunities for the students we serve.”
The award further advances Huston-Tillotson’s efforts to strengthen its long-term financial position while preparing students for careers in fields critical to the communities HT serves.
