The Florence Mockridge and Barry B. Lanning Opportunity Scholarship was established to support aspiring educators who demonstrate academic promise, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for making a difference through teaching. This endowed scholarship reflects the donor’s commitment to investing in future educators who have the ability and determination to succeed but may lack the financial means to pursue their educational goals.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be enrolled full-time at Huston-Tillotson University.
- Must be pursuing a degree in the Department of Educator Preparation.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must exhibit academic potential, intellectual curiosity, and a sincere commitment to becoming a teacher.
Selection Process:
Recipients are selected by Huston-Tillotson University in accordance with university financial aid policies and the donor’s established criteria. The number of scholarships awarded each year is determined by available endowment funding.
