The Philanthropy Impact Center at Huston-Tillotson University is launching an equity-focused 12-week Certificate in Philanthropy designed for current and emerging nonprofit leaders who are ready to deepen their leadership, strengthen organizational capacity, and advance meaningful impact in their communities.

Rooted in Huston-Tillotson University’s legacy of leadership, service, and social responsibility, the program brings an equity lens to the practice of philanthropy and nonprofit leadership. Participants will explore how organizations can lead with purpose, center community voice, make informed decisions, build sustainable organizations, and create lasting change.

This is more than a certificate. It is an opportunity to learn alongside fellow nonprofit leaders, engage with experienced practitioners, apply new ideas to real-world challenges, and become part of a learning community grounded in the values and mission of Austin’s first institution of higher learning.

Across 12 weeks, participants will explore:

• Leadership, purpose, and accountability
• Nonprofit strategy and management
• Philanthropy and fundraising
• Financial sustainability
• Programs, evaluation, and impact
• Equity and community engagement
• Boards, governance, and organizational leadership

We welcome applications from current and emerging nonprofit leaders, including executive and senior leaders, program and development professionals, community leaders, and others committed to strengthening the nonprofit and philanthropic ecosystem.

Whether you are leading an organization, building a program, raising resources, evaluating impact, serving on a board, or preparing for your next leadership opportunity, this program is designed to help you move from ideas to action.

  12 weeks of synchronous online learning – Tuesdays | 6:00–9:00 PM
• In-Person Experience
  Three Saturday sessions on 2/6, 3/6, and 4/3/2027

The program combines practical learning, peer exchange, reflection, and application. Participants will leave with new tools, new relationships, and a deeper understanding of what it takes to lead organizations toward sustainable and equitable impact.
