Austin, Texas – Huston-Tillotson University proudly celebrates the artistic achievements of Dr. Jeremy George, Assistant Professor of Music, who will release his debut single as a bandleader, Hard Boppin’, on Friday, July 3.
After months of writing, recording, and post-production, Hard Boppin’ marks an exciting milestone in Dr. George’s career as a composer, performer, and educator. The release reflects his commitment to musical excellence and innovation while showcasing the artistry he brings to both the stage and the classroom.
Dr. George has distinguished himself as a leader in jazz education at Huston-Tillotson University. Earlier this year, he led the Huston-Tillotson University Jazz Orchestra to a third-place national finish at the 2026 National Collegiate Jazz Competition held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, one of the nation’s premier showcases for collegiate jazz ensembles. The recognition highlights the University’s growing reputation for excellence in music and the performing arts.
