Freshman goalkeeper Citlaly Vences was joined by seniors Kayla Evans, Alicia Gonzales, and Lincy Villatoro on the All-HBCU Athletic Conference Team, highlighting a standout season for the Rams.
In his first year as head coach after previously serving as an assistant, Gimeno guided HT to its best season since 2021, which also marked the last time the Rams advanced to a postseason conference tournament. Under his leadership, the team posted a 6-6-1 record and captured the HBCUAC West Division title.
Evans, a transfer from Mississippi Valley State University, led the Rams in scoring with seven goals and 15 points. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native recorded two multi-goal matches and scored in three of HT’s four conference games.
Defender Alicia Gonzales, from Kearns, Utah, anchored the Rams’ back line throughout the season. She was the only HT player to start all 13 regular-season matches, leading the team with 1,072 minutes played.
Graduate student Lincy Villatoro, from Los Angeles, returned to collegiate soccer this season after a seven-year hiatus, having last played at Texas A&M International University. She led the Rams with six assists, providing veteran leadership and creative playmaking on the field.
Vences, a freshman from Baytown, Texas, made an immediate impact in goal, leading HT in saves and earning a 1-3-1 record. Her season highlight came in a shutout draw against Concordia Texas.
The Lady Rams will play in the HBCU Athletic Conference Championship on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 3 p.m. against Talladega College.
