Contingency Admission Applicants currently in a four-year degree program may be eligible for a Contingency Admission in their Final Semester of earning a bachelor degree. An applicant may be accepted into an alternative certification program on a contingency basis pending receipt of an official transcript showing the degree conferred under the following guidelines:

No Degree Trade and Industrial Education *** Trade and Industrial Education (Grades 6-12) TAC 233.14. Trades and Industrial Education certificates require work experience. For initial certification, you must meet the requirements for becoming a classroom teacher in Texas. Career and Technical Education Chart TAC 233.14(f)(1) requires that candidates seeking CTE certification based on skill and experience. Background Clearance: Candidates are required to complete a fingerprint background check prior to employment (19 TAC 227.1(b). A criminal history may jeopardize an individual’s ability to obtain a teacher certification and or employment via a school district. An individual has a right to request a Preliminary Criminal History Evaluation (PCHE) from TEA. Education Agency (TEA). | ||
