Applying for Financial Aid
Introduction
The mission of our office is to support the overall goals of recruiting, retaining, and the graduation of a diverse student population by setting a pace of excellence in financial aid administration and superior service to students.
This section explains the financial aid application process for students and their parents applying for the 2025-2026 academic year. Remember that continuing students must reapply for financial aid every year.
Note: If you still need to apply for financial aid for the 2024-2025 academic year, please submit a 2024-2025 FAFSA as soon as possible.
Prospective First-Year Students, Transfer Students and Continuing Students
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The FAFSA determines your eligibility for low-interest Federal Direct Loans, as well as federal and state grants. Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA online using the following information:
- Enter HT’s Federal School Code : 003577
Step 1: Create an FSA ID from the U.S. Department of Education at www.studentaid.gov. If you are a dependent student, your parent will also have to create an FSA ID. (Please note that each FSA ID user must have a unique email address.)
Step 2: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.studentaid.gov. Use the IRS Data Retrieval tool (IRS DRT) to update your FAFSA with IRS tax return information.
Step 3: We will review all documents that you submit to us, and if additional information is needed, we will contact you by mail and email.
Step 4: Once your file is complete, we will send you an award letter listing all the types of financial aid we can offer you.
