New Student Registration

The New Student Registration is designed to equip you with everything needed for a successful start, ensuring a smooth transition from lamb to ram while following all essential steps for success. Through our New Student Registration program, students will:

· Connect with peers in meaningful ways and share experiences to broaden their community

· Discover Huston-Tillotson University traditions and campus culture

· Learn about and deepen their understanding of the University’s services and procedures that students and families use throughout their time at Huston-Tillotson University

· Intellectually engage with faculty, staff, and other students to strengthen their understanding of the academic expectations of the college experience, including the General Education curriculum, engaged learning, and academic advising

· Register for classes

 

New Student Registration: Becoming a RAM 

An important step in preparing for your arrival as a new Huston-Tillotson student is to participate in aregistration session. Designed to provide you and your family with additional information and support for your transition to Huston-Tillotson University, registration is a required part of your Ram experience

 

Before You Come 

There are five steps you should complete prior to your selected registration session: 

Register for the NSR date that is convenient for you and your family. Click herefor dates

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For tips on how to complete a FAFSA application, please visit https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa. To schedule a virtual        appointment with Financial Aid staff, please email finaid@htu.edu 

Submit health immunization records clearance forms.  

Confirm your commitment to attend HT CONFIRMATION FORM

Submit a non-refundable enrollment commitment fee of $100 via CASHNETPORTAL

 

What to Expect 

During New Student Registration, you will select your schedule of courses with the assistance of academic advisors from the Center for Academic Excellence or faculty advisor in your major. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to meet current students, speak with student services representatives, and make friends with other students.

Students will be able to: 

  • Talk with various student services offices 
  • Register for semester classes 
  • Meeting future Rams 

 The NSR sessions include: 

  • Course selection and registration 
  • Review financial aid award (Estimated Aid) 
  • Submission of health clearance records and all other admissions requirements 
  • Secure room assignment 
  • Receive an estimated bill from the Business Office (Billing and Assessments verifies that you are being charged correctly) 

 

Register for only one session date.  If you need to change your registration date, please get in touch with the Office of Admissions at 919.516.4012 or email the admissions office at admissions@htu.edu for assistance.
