
Huston-Tillotson University set to host an Intergalatic Sesquicentennial Gala

Austin, TX – (July 1, 2025) –On Friday, October 25, 2025, the city of Austin will witness a night like no other, as Huston-Tillotson University ignites the future while honoring its 150-year legacy will a sesquicentennial gala. The futuristic-themed celebration, slated to be held at the Austin Marriott Downtown beginning at 6:00 p.m., promises to be an immersive evening of fun and fundraising, with proceeds benefiting the university’s academic initiatives, scholarships, and student success programs.
Against a galactic backdrop, attendees, who are encouraged to wear formal or futuristic-inspired attire, can expect the unexpected as they are transported to the outer limits of space and time, where interactive light shows, augmented reality installations, Zentopia (a relaxing lounge) and an onsite Quantum Glow Zone will converge to create an unforgettable celebration.
Entertainment will be provided by the University President’s Jazz Collective and several special guests’ appearances, and other curated experiences designed to commemorate the university’s journey through fifteen decades.
