Austin, TX (September 17, 2025) — Huston-Tillotson University (HT) has earned national distinction as the #15 Historically Black College or University (HBCU) in America, according to the latest rankings published by Niche.com. In addition, HT is recognized as the #1 Best Private HBCU in Texas, reaffirming our legacy of excellence and impact in higher education.
Niche’s widely respected ranking system evaluates HBCUs based on academic performance, student and alumni reviews, value, and campus life. HT scored highly across these categories, reflecting the university’s dedication to preparing students for both career and community impact.
