Enrollment Management

Admitted Students

Congratulations on Your Acceptance to Huston-Tillotson University!

Welcome to the HT community, you’ve taken an exciting step! Here’s a clear guide to what comes next so you can complete everything before your first day of classes. This applies only to new students who are first-time freshmen or transfer students. All other students will receive instructions from their program representatives.

1. Submit Your Final Transcripts

Send your official final high school transcript as soon as possible after graduation. If you’ve earned any IB, AP, college, or dual-credit coursework, include those official documents too. Electronic delivery (Parchment, SPEEDE, National Student Clearinghouse, etc.) is preferred. Email the admissions office at admissions@htu.edu

2. Provide TSI, ACT or SAT scores

Incoming freshmen students must submit their test scores to the Office of Admissions at admissions@htu.edu.

  • All Texas residents, submit your Texas Success Initiative (TSI) scores.
  • ACT or SAT scores, are required for all students

3. Complete the FAFSA

Even if you think you won’t qualify for aid, completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is important. Add HT by using its school code: 003577 on your FAFSA form. Federal and state aid, as well as HT scholarships, are based on this application.

For details on financial aid opportunities and deadlines, visit the Financial Aid webpage.

4. Pay your commitment fee

All first-time freshmen and new transfer students are required to pay a commitment fee of $100. To claim your place in the incoming class, you must pay your enrollment commitment fee. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to another semester. Students must login to the RAM portal to submit their payment

5. Attend New Student Orientation

All new undergraduate students are required to participate in Summer Orientation Registration and Advisement, which introduces you to campus life, academic advising, and class registration. At orientation, you will:

  • Meet your academic advisor and register for classes
  • Learn about campus resources and support services
  • Connect with fellow new students

Orientation sessions fill up fast, so register early. Registration will open on March 23

6. Apply for Campus Housing

If you plan to live on campus, you’ll want to secure your housing early. Review residential options and complete your application through the HT housing portal at the Office of Residence Life. Most rooms are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

7. Submit Immunization Records

You are required to upload official immunization documentation as part of student health requirements. This includes standard vaccinations per Texas law. All students must comply with institutional immunization requirements in order to reside on-campus and attend classes.
