RTC 101

Ram Training Camp provides new and transfer students with an introduction to life at Huston-Tillotson University. Adhering to the information on this site will help guide you to successful new student orientation experience. Please remember: all details on RTC is located in Canvas. Download the Canvas Student app today to get started!

Information for new and transfer students:

RTC will kick off Sunday, August 18th through Sunday, August 25th.

Per the RTC schedule, The Parent Orientation will be held virtually on Friday, August 11th from 6:00pm-7:00pm via Zoom in Central Standard Time (CST).

The move-in process is facilitated by Residence Life and will take place on Sunday, August 18th beginning at 8am. Please remember: all students MUST receive confirmation from Residence Life to move-in. Contact reslife@htu.edu for all move-in inquiries. More information about Residence Life can be found here.

Important: All students living on campus must receive confirmation from Residence Life to move-in. Email reslife@htu.edu.

Please remember: New transfer students living off-campus and all traditional new students are required to attend all RTC activities.

All details, including connection links for virtual sessions are located in the RTC site in Canvas. All new and transfer students will be emailed 2-3 weeks before RTC with the subject: Announcing HT Ram Training Camp. You will also information on how to access our technological systems, such email and Canvas.

Guests who attend RTC 2023 with you will not participate in campus activities, rather they will be invited to 1) assist their student with move-in, and 2) parents will attend specific sessions on Sunday, August 13th and Monday, August 14th.

To recap, here are the required steps to a successful RTC:

Handle Your Business: complete all enrollment steps
Sign into Canvas & download the Canvas Student App for all RTC materials (tutorials)
Read and adhere to all RTC information
Attend all RTC events
Engage with all participants – network with peers, HT faculty and staff
Enroll in and complete the Canvas Student Orientation

Huston-Tillotson College officially changed its name to Huston-Tillotson University on February 28, 2005.
