Ms. Tiffany Simms-House an adjunct instructor here at Huston Tillotson University since June 2019. She currently teaches courses for the Alternative Certification Program. Tiffany has been an educator for 16 years as an classroom teacher, certified in Special Education. Ms. Simms-House currently works as Special Education Transition Coordinator for the school district. She is pursuing her Doctoral degree at Liberty University in Curriculum and Instruction: Educational Technology. She plans to become a full time professor once she has earned her degree. Ms. Simms-House has been with Huston-Tillotson since ATCP since 2020.
Joy Moore, M.A. an adjunct instructor for both the Adult Degree and Teacher Certification Programs. She is also a certified Field Supervisor (T-TESS Training) for ATCP interns. Ms. Moore received her teaching certification through the Alternative Teacher Certification Program at Huston-Tillotson University Ms. Moore experience as an educator includes over 20 years as educator in EC-4th, Special Education EC-12th, and English as Second Language. Ms. Moore earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a master’s in arts in Clinical Counseling at St. Edwards University. Ms. Moore has been with Huston-Tillotson ATCP since 2021.
Nicole Whetstone, Ph.D. an Adjunct Instructor for both the Adult Degree and Alternative Teacher Certification Programs for Huston-Tillotson University since 2022. Dr. Whetstone serves as a lecturer on the faculty of The University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy. She has also taught Special Education courses at Texas State University. Her research interests include special education, teacher preparation, culturally responsive instruction, juvenile justice and trauma-informed classrooms. She earned a Ph.D. in Multicultural Special Education from The University of Texas at Austin.
