Huston-Tillotson University Set To Host Inaugural HBCU Ai Conference and Training Summit

Austin, Texas – December 13, 2024 — Registration is now open for the inaugural HBCU Ai Conference and Training Summit slated for April 1-3, 2025, on the campus of Huston-Tillotson University (HT).
This event will bring together AI researchers, educators, students, and industry leaders to explore inclusive pathways in artificial intelligence through participation in interactive workshops, networking with industry experts, professionals and recruiters, with a focus on students and faculty from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), community colleges, and leading tech organizations.
The summit will bring together tech enthusiasts and novices in the AI space with corporate entities and students to share ideas about the current and future impacts of artificial intelligence. It is designed to shape the future of artificial intelligence by creating inclusive pathways for underrepresented communities and amplifying diverse voices in the rapidly evolving tech and AI landscape.
“This summit is about bridging the gap between technology and representation,” said Meme Styles, president of Measure and summit co-chair. “We’re bringing together visionaries, educators, and students to ensure everyone has a seat at the table as AI transforms the world.”
Centered on the theme, “Leading the future of AI,” the three-day event will include interactive workshops and sessions, networking opportunities, and student showcases. Dr. Denise Malloy, director of HT’s Center for Academic Innovation and Transformation and Dr. Robbie Melton, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Tennessee State University, will be the featured presenters.
Researchers, educators, and students are encouraged to submit papers on topics such as AI applications, ethics, diversity in tech, and inclusive innovation. Deadline for all submissions is January 31, 2025. Entries may be submitted by clicking on the link Submit Your Paper. Accepted papers will be featured in the conference program, with opportunities for authors to present their work during the event.
