Congratulations Huston-Tillotson University Professor Shawanda Stewart (pictured left) and Dr. Brian Stone, who have been awarded a highly competitive research grant ($5,600) by the Research Initiative of the National Council of Teachers of English/College Conference on Composition and Communication (NCTE/CCCC) for their project, “Critical Hip-Hop Rhetoric Pedagogy and Freshman Composition at an Historically Black University: A Pilot Study.”
Since 1949, the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) has been the world’s largest professional organization for researching and teaching composition, from writing to new media. Professors Stewart and Stone will garner national attention when they present their research at the upcoming April NCTE/CCCC meeting in Houston.
