Heiress and VanVan Perform Hit Single “Be You” at 2024 BET Awards in Los Angeles, Showcasing HBCU Pride

Los Angeles, CA – June 30, 2024 – Heiress and VanVan delivered a show-stopping performance at the 2024 BET Awards in Los Angeles, California, with their hit single “Be You.” The dynamic duo’s performance featured an inspiring collaboration with Huston-Tillotson University and Morris Brown College, celebrating the rich heritage and pride of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The performance was a vibrant display of HBCU culture, featuring a special appearance by future HBCU students, symbolizing the ongoing legacy and impact of these esteemed institutions. By integrating elements of HBCU traditions and highlighting the achievements of current and future students, Heiress and VanVan paid tribute to the importance of “being you”.

While Historically Black Colleges and Universities play a critical role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow, they provide a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, culturally, and socially. Dr. Melva K. Wallace added, “I am just thrilled that Heiress and VanVan along with their parents understand the value of HBCUs and decided to represent two legendary brands during their historic performance on BET. HT has been a beacon of light for the education of blacks for 149 years and today we stand even prouder as we go from the first institution of higher education in Austin, TX to the FOREMOST.”
