Ellen J. McEwen Named HT’s Director of Intercollegiate Athletics

(AUSTIN, Texas) 9.16.13 — Ellen J. McEwen joined the Huston-Tillotson University staff recently as the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. She has been a collegiate athletics administrator, teacher, and coach for more than 30 years with experience at all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) division levels and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). She has extensive experience teaching collegiate and community health and physical education courses as well as developing athletic programs, policies, and procedures. Volleyball, tennis, and softball are her coaching areas of proficiency.
McEwen received her bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio’s Ashland University and her Master of Arts degree from Ohio State University. She is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
At Huston-Tillotson University, McEwen will manage men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and track and field; men’s cross country and baseball; and women’s volleyball within the Red River Athletic Conference and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
