Bowman Named Director of Community Engagement and Public Health Initiatives

(AUSTIN, Texas) 7.23.15 — Huston-Tillotson University (HT) is pleased to announce another major step in the development and implementation of the Sandra Joy Anderson Community Health and Wellness Center (CHWC). HT President Colette Pierce Burnette recently named Dominique R. Bowman as Director of Community Engagement and Public Health Initiatives for the CHWC.
Bowman will be responsible for providing leadership and direction on public health program content; implementing and evaluating programs with emphasis on measurable outcomes using data and best practices; prioritizing programmatic objectives, activities, and budget needs; continuing and developing team-based approaches; and integrating public health programmatic activities, as well as assessing effective CHWC staff capacity. In addition, Bowman will manage broad-based initiatives, ranging from community engagement to resource development.
The appointment became effective on July 1, 2015. Bowman, who brings the requisite experience, skills and persona to serve effectively in advancing the objectives of the Sandra Joy Anderson Community Health and Wellness Center, was selected and appointed after a thorough search. The Center is slated to open September 2015.
