Huston-Tillotson University received a $145, 323 Heritage Preservation grant from the City of Austin Economic Development

Austin, Texas – November 1, 2024 – Huston-Tillotson University is honored to announce the award of a Preservation Grant that will support the restoration and preservation of the iconic Evans Industrial Building. As a cornerstone of Austin’s educational and cultural heritage, Huston-Tillotson University plays an invaluable role in both the city’s history and its vibrant community life.

This prestigious grant will directly aid in preserving the Evans Industrial Building, ensuring the facility can continue to serve both students and the broader community while retaining its historic integrity. The funding will be allocated to essential repairs, rehabilitation efforts, and enhancements designed to honor the university’s rich legacy while also improving the building’s functionality for modern use.
