Free Medication Review Service: Know Your Medicine
Many Americans take multiple medications without fully understanding their benefits and risks. Unfortunately, over 1.5 million preventable hospitalizations occur each year because a medication is not taken properly. Medication reviews help empower people to better understand what they are taking, what to look out for and when to seek help.
What is Know Your Medicine?
Know Your Medicine is a student-led service organization at the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy. Our main mission is to help the community to better understand and optimize their medications by providing FREE brief medication reviews.
Services Provided
During the 1 hour medication review, we will:
Go over your current medication therapies
Identify any drug-related problems
Develop a plan to resolve these problems
Answer your drug-related questions
Check that your immunizations are up-to-date
Offer blood pressure, body mass index, blood sugar and total cholesterol screenings
All of these services are provided free-of-charge to you.
Your Privacy Matters
Your privacy is very important to us. Under federal law, you have rights as to who can look at and receive your health information. Therefore, our sessions are strictly confidential and your information will NOT be shared with anyone without your expressed consent.
What to Bring
All prescription medications
All over-the-counter medications whether you are currently taking them or not
All vitamins, supplements and herbals
List of any medication concerns or questions you may have
