HT Lady Rams 0-1 LSU – Alexandria (NAIA RRAC)
This was a fine performance from the Lady Rams. One which showed real grit and determination to battle for 110 minutes against a very aggressive and organized LSU – Alexandria team.
The statistics say it all. The Rams out-shot LSU 21 to 10 over the 90 minutes plus another 20 overtime minutes only to see LSU score with just 10 seconds left on the clock.
Wonderful performances at the back from captain Erica Ramos, Stephanie Dominguez, Angie Renteria, Susan Diaz and GK Ambar Hernandez meant that HT stayed on top for the majority of the contest. Despite great build up play through midfield, the finishing touch just was not there today for the Rams.
The Lady Rams were left to rue missed chances right the way through the game after dominating for long spells. The goals seemed to have dried up at this moment in time but the performance was a real positive from today’s game. Hopefully HT can reproduce this type of display now for the remainder of the conference season.
Next up is a trip to Jarvis Christian on Thursday Oct 9th, then another away game at University of the Southwest on Saturday Oct 11th.
