Description

 

AIDS

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS or Aids) is a collection of symptoms and infections resulting from the specific damage to the immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

 

HIV

Human immunodeficiency virus is a retrovirus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), a condition in humans in which the immune system begins to fail, leading to life-threatening opportunistic infections.

 

CHIP

Children’s Health Insurance Program

 

Medicaid

Medicaid is the US health insurance program for individuals and families with low incomes and resources.

 

Medicare

Medicare is the name given to a health insurance program administered by the United States government, covering people who are either age 65 and over, or who meet other special criteria.

 

TANF

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families

 

WIC
