Want to download eBooks?

You can search, browse, and read eBooks in your browser without downloading anything. Click here to access the collection (for off-campus access, ask the librarians for the login information).

If you want to download eBooks to your personal devices, you can do that too! Unfortunately, our EBSCO eBooks are not currently available for Kindle devices. All parts of this process are free of charge.

One-time setup for all devices:

If you don’t already have one, you will need to create an Adobe ID by going to Adobe’s website and clicking on “Don’t have an Adobe ID?”. Follow the steps to set up your free Adobe ID. If you have a Nook, make sure to use the same email address for your Adobe ID as you did to register your Nook.

You will also need to create a MyEBSCOhost account. This account allows you to save and check out the eBooks you are interested in, and also works for saving search results and articles in our other EBSCO databases, such as Academic Search Complete and Business Search Complete. Enter the eBooks site and click on “Sign In” in the upper right corner to create your MyEBSCOhost account.

iPads, iPhones, Android tablets, and Android phones:

You will need to install a free app that allows you to authorize your device with your Adobe ID. The recommended app is Bluefire Reader. Download it from the iTunes App Store or Google Play Store and install it on your device. When you open Bluefire Reader for the first time, enter your Adobe ID to authorize your device.

Once Bluefire Reader is set up, you can navigate to the eBook collection in your device’s Internet browser, log in using the HT account information, sign into your MyEBSCOhost account, and download the book you have chosen. The book will open automatically in Bluefire Reader.

PC and Mac computers:

Download and install the Adobe Digital Editions software. When you open Adobe Digital Editions for the first time, enter your Adobe ID to authorize your computer. Enter your Adobe ID and password to complete this process.

Once Adobe Digital Editions is set up, you can navigate to the eBook collection in your Internet browser, log in using the HT account information, sign into your MyEBSCOhost account, and download the book you have chosen. The book will open automatically in Adobe Digital Editions.

Nook and Sony Readers:

First, set up and authorize your computer with Adobe Digital Editions as described above, and download the book you want. Then connect your Nook or Reader to the computer with a USB cable. The device will appear as a bookshelf in Adobe Digital Editions. Drag and drop your book onto the device to transfer it.
