Linda Y. Jackson to Head Huston-Tillotson University’s Center for Civic Engagement

Linda Y. JacksonAUSTIN, TX (12.15.17) – Linda Y. Jackson has been named Huston-Tillotson University’s Director of the Center for Civic Engagement and Community Outreach.

In the role, she will serve as the liaison between the community and the University to strengthen partnerships, programs, and articulation agreements, while focusing on student learning and engagement through internships, clinical experiences, and extracurricular activities that cross all academic disciplines.

For the past 18 years, Jackson has served the University in a public relations capacity, responsible for advancing the overall mission of the University by promoting the achievements, successes, and accomplishments of faculty, staff, students, and alumni. She also successfully managed the University’s fundraising efforts as the Senior Development Officer, moving the institution to the “All-Steinway School” status.

Jackson received a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville and earned a Master’s of Business Administration degree from LeTourneau University.  In addition to her academic degrees, she has completed studies at the Harvard Management Institute, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Management and Leadership in Education.
