Rams Fall At Concordia

Concordia University (NCAA III) 3-0 HT

This was a very competitive hard fought match for the Lady Rams and another step along the road to prepare for their RRAC season in a few weeks time.

Concordia really tested HT from a physical and aggressive perspective and it was this approach to the game that helped them dominate territorially. HT’s back line finally gave way just before half-time when a cross was not dealt with leaving an easy tap in for CU to make it 1-0 at the interval.

The second half was much more like it from HT. Standout performances from Morgan Seeliger in midfield, Victoria Elizalde and Kimberlin Palacios up front and Evelyn Martinez in goal contributed to a real team effort to match Concordia’s aggression on the field of play. Chances came and went for Palacios from a header, Elizalde from just inside the 18 and Montealvo from a free-kick only for the CU keeper to keep the Rams out time and agin.

CU added two goals from defensive lapses under pressure to make the scoreline a cruel looking 3-0.

Lessons learned and now two home games this coming weekend to come. First vs Texas Wesleyan on Friday at 6pm, then Texas Lutheran on Sunday at 3pm. Come out and support the Lady Rams!!
