Homecoming is always memorable!  Mark your calendar and plan to return to Austin for a weekend of activities.  Basketball game against Wiley College with the women starting at 5:30 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m. Be on the lookout for more information!

Savant Sunday II: The Block Party (SGA)

Savant Sunday serves as the kickoff event for Homecoming 2016. This student led event is filled with music, food, fun, and is intended to encourage social interaction between students. This year’s Savant Sunday features Zydeco music, as well as Swing Out and Line dancing. Students are encouraged to dress to impress, however, no one will be turned away.

Brown Bag Special Part I – Community Service Project

Laser Tag/Call of Duty Tournament and Carnivale
Monday, Feb. 22

HT Athletic Field
This multi-station event features “Call of Duty” on a 10 ft x 6 ft high definition projection screen with a professional sound system! This event features 6 Battle Rifle Pro Laser Guns and Headsets 8 Super Laser Barricades Projecto Movie Experience Package w/ X-Box & Call of Duty Black Ops Game Velcro wall, Bunjie Jump, and Obstacle Course. Students will battle it out during this interactive tournament style game while enjoying food, music, and fun.

Brown Bag Special Part II – Community Service Project

“Life is a Great Big Canvas” Homecoming King/Queen

Join the outgoing Homecoming King and Queen as they celebrate the uniqueness of our campus. Students will be given the opportunity to express their individual creativity and celebrate their unique personalities through art.

Def Ram Comedy Jam

This event debuted during last year’s Homecoming and quickly became a campus sensation. The Comedy Show is the lead to HT’s traditional Wednesday night Rammy Awards. This year’s HT Live Comedy Show features comedian, actor, and RAM friend Billy Sorrells. Sorrells was the headline comedian for Homecoming 2015 and is best known for his work on TBS, BET, CENTRIC, VH1, and MTV.

Paint the Town is a staple in the lineup of Homecoming events. Each year, student organizations come together to decorate the windows of the Davage-Durden Student Union. Due to the renovation currently under way in the union, this year’s Paint the Town has been changed to “Chalk the Town”. Student organizations will be allowed to represent their organization within a pre-determined section of the sidewalk. All entries will be judged to see who will take the title of “Chalk of the Walk”!

Homecoming Chapel Service

Chapel remains a campus staple, although it was once mandatory for students to attend the weekly service. Now, students voluntarily gather to praise God and share the Word. Plan to participate in this special Homecoming worship.

Movie Night

Join the RAM FAM as we enjoy free popcorn, refreshments, and a movie in the A-L Auditorium. In keeping with this year’s 90s theme, “House Party” is the movie of choice, which is an American comedy film released by New Line Cinema. It stars Kid and Play of the popular hip hop duo Kid ‘n Play, and also stars Paul Anthony, Bow-Legged Lou, B-Fine from Full Force, and Robin Harris. You know the movie. Come join the fun.
