UTB Too Much For The Lady Rams
Monday Nov, 11 2013
The Lady Rams Soccer team represented Huston-Tillotson University for the first time in their history this past weekend at the RRAC Final Four Championships.
UT Brownsville provided the opposition in a semi-final match that proved a little too much for the Lady Rams on the day. UTB’s athleticism and speed was apparent from the get go and despite HT’s best efforts, their combination play and quality finishing helped them storm into a 3-0 lead at the half time interval. HT’s best efforts came from strike duo Courtney Wilcut and Victoria Elizalde who both had fantastic efforts saved by the impressive UTB keeper.
The second half continued in the same vain and tired legs began to tell as the game progressed. Wilcut again was unlucky with an effort that cannoned off the post and away yo safety. UTB ran out worthy winners 8-0 to book themselves into the final.
This was an impressive history making season for the Lady Rams and a huge step forward for the team as they ventured into unknown territory for the first time. Despite defeat, this experience has provided much motivation to go one better again next year and build on the successes of the last 4 months!
