Huston-Tillotson Men & Women Track Team at A & M Commerce

The Huston -Tillotson Men and Women track team competed very well at the D1 Texas A & M Commerce Opener. The Lady Rams had four 1st place finishers: Sara Mackey 100 meters, Ravonshia Whaley 800 meters and 3rd in the 400 meters, Montranique Smith high jump, and Onyeoma Okerke in the triple jump. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Candace Dotson, Brittany Perales, Ravonshia Whaley and Zakeria Chism placed 3rd. The 4 x 100 meter team of Candace Dotson, Onyeoma Okerke, Sara Mackey and Brittany Perales was 3rd. Sara Mackey and Candace Dotson placed 3rd and 4th in the 200 meters, Morghan Jones placed 2nd in the 400 meter hurdles, Simone Sawyer placed 5th in the shot put, Alexa wright placed 4th in the hammer throw. The women’s team placed 3rd overall. On the men’s side, Phaebian Wien placed 3rd in the men’s shot put, Ross Kelley placed 3rd in the men’s javelin. The men’s 4 x 400 meter relay team of Chris McConnell, Derius Yarbrough, Brandon Semien and Payton Garrett placed 4th. The men team placed 5th overall. The team will compete at the Texas Southern (TSU) Relays on March 14 -16th in Houston, Texas. The coaching staff are proud of this team, mostly made up of freshmen.
