Former Assistant U.S. Attorney General to Speak at HT

Ramsey ClarkThe Honorable Ramsey Clark who served as Assistant U.S. Attorney General from 1961 – 1968 will visit HT today.  He will be speaking in the A-L Auditorium from 4:00 – 5:30.  His talk is titled, “Civil Rights to Human Rights to World Peace.”

While serving as Assistant U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark helped draft the 1965 Voting Rights Act and headed the Presidential Task Force to Watts following the riots.  Currently Ramsey Clark travels the world investigating war crimes and visiting with the families of political prisoners.  He is the author of several books including The Fire this Time: U.S. War Crimes in the Gulf (1992) and Crime in America (1970). 

His presentation is being sponsored the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.  His talk is free and open to the public.
